The Bourne Civic Society plans to establish a permanent Raymond Mays Exhibition in the Lincolnshire town where Mays founded both ERA and BRM. A club for motor racing enthusiasts meets at the Angel Hotel, Bourne, on the third Wednesday of each month, and is well supported by former BRM employees.

Robert Benoist, the French pre-war Grand Prix ace and 1937 Le Mans winner, will be remembered with the presentation of a special trophy at Luxembourg’s Grand Prix d’Europe Historic spectacular on Whit Monday, May 19.

Three-time formula one World Champion Niki Lauda underwent a kidney transplant operation in Austria last month. The 48-year-old received the organ from his brother, Florian.

Helsinki-based American ‘Quick Vic’ Myette has bought the ex-Team VDS McLaren M8F. Peter Hannen raced it successfully last season, when Myette was running his M6B.

Mike Wrigley is to race an ex-Martin Brundle Tyrrell 012 in the FIA Thoroughbred Grand Prix series. The chassis, which Brundle crashed heavily in qualifying for the 1983 Monaco GP, is being prepared by Liaz jakhara of Zul Racing.
