The colour of money

I am pleased that David Cole (Letters, April) enjoyed my feature on the Tasman Series, but I am sorry that he misinterpreted my reference to the changes to the face of Grand Prix racing which followed the repainting of the works Lotuses.
The necessary space limitations of a magazine article do not allow authors to reproduce all the details they might like. The Australian Grand Prix was not part of the Tasman Series after 1969, so the reasons for its transfer to a permanent late-year date were not mentioned.
Finally, may I add my congratulations to the many you will no doubt have received following the launch of the new-look MOTOR SPORT.
