Australian Alpine
The VSCC of Australia has its own Alpine Rally, won outright this year by a Lancia Kappa, from a Delage and a Lancia Lambda, The PVT class went to an L-type MG, from a Derby Bentley and a Sunbeam.
There were 53 starters and only eight non-finishers, including a Singer Le Mans and an Alfa Romeo with blown gaskets and a Diatto with sheared crown-wheel bolts. FTD in the Eddington Sprint was set by Roy Williams’s Sabrina, from a Ford Special. Incidentally, Down Under they allocate the number 13 at events and a ladies’ class is to be revived at the forthcoming Rob Roy hill climb.
