On June 26/27, Thruxton celebrates its 25th anniversary with a special Silver Jubilee meeting.

Highlights of the weekend will include a demonstration by Damon Hill of the Williams FW 15C, a Historic Formula Two event for the Jochen Rindt Trophy and a sports car race for pre-1970 Le Mans cars.

Confirmed entries for the former include 1979 European F2 champion Marc Surer, at the wheel of a March 782 (driving just such a car, Surer was runner-up to Bruno Giacomelli in 1978).

The ‘Le Mans’ entry includes myriad Ferraris (275LM, 330 P2 and GTO, for instance), Mike Knight’s Matra MS650, David Piper’s Porsche 917 and René Hertzog’s Ford Mk IV in among an entry of 26 as we closed for press.

Full details are available from the circuit, on 0264 772696.
