Enthusiasm for the VSCC Derbyshire Trial in May was high, with 82 entries and starters, of whom 13 trailed their cars to the start and were duly penalised under the latest ruling. 

One A7 was found to be non-eligible, Lord Riverdale’s Talbot 105 and Caldicott’s HRG retired. The Dick Batho Award was won by JP Evans’ GE A7, and Julian Ghosh took the Pat Marsh Memorial Trophy with the 1924 30/98 Vauxhall as the overall winner on index of performance marking.

In addition to these, first-class awards were won by Threlfall (Ford), and Spence (Lea-Francis Special), second-class awards by Moffatt (Bugatti), Potter (Trojan), Low (A7) and Ellison (Riley), and third-class awards also went to Felton (Bugatti), Clarke (A7), Garfitt (FN-BMW), Rides (Riley) and Clark (HRG).
