Babs cot donations

Three months ago (Motor Sport, March 1987) we recalled the “Babs” cot which was set up in perpetuity at the Great Ormond Street Hospital for Sick Children in 1927, as a memorial to Parry Thomas (who was killed on an LSR run in “Babs”) and as a reminder of his donations to this hospital. It was a long time ago and we hardly expected anyone to send in further donations, so we are pleased to report that they have. The total to date is over £160, including £10 sent anonymously by five children in Oldham and another sum collected from the Hillenden half-marathon by workmates at Thorn EMI and “5837”.

The hospital says even the smallest donations are very welcome, and these should be sent to Miss Penny Uprichard, The Hospital for Sick Children, Great Ormond Street, London WC1N 3JH.
