WE WERE very sorry to hear that John Walker, Competition Secretary of the Motor Cycling Club, died just before the recent Land’s End Trial, at the age of 79. We also regret to learn of the death, aged 82, of Mrs Miles, who, with her husband, was responsible for the design of so many Miles light aeroplanes. Daughter of Sir Johnston Forbes-Robertson, Blossom married her second husband Fred Miles, who encouraged her to help him design his famous sporting aeroplanes. — W.B.
