It publishes a duplicated magazine “Side-valve”, provides useful spares sources and technical information, and is pleased to hear of any s. v. Fords, cherished or just-running, derelict or being restored. It also organises an adequate number of events and activities for the owners of such Fords and its Club news-sheet (separate from the magazine) includes many such cars for sale, by members and non-members, which might be just the job for those contemplating a “Seat-Belt Special”, or more accurately, exempted-seat-belt-transport, in the near future – see this month’s MOTOR SPORT Editorial! There are Registers within the Club for Y and C-types E83W, 100E, 107E, Popular models and Specials. The Club even runs to a Publicity Officer, Jim Norman. Drivers Club

THE JDC Historic Race meeting at Silverstone on April 3rd saw an encouragingly full grid in the first in a new series of events organised by the Mk. I/II register of the JDC for pre ’68 Jaguar saloons. Further rounds of the series, which is run on an inter-area challenge basis, are to be held at Curborough (May 23rd) Mallory Park (July 24th) and Goodwood (Sept 25th).

Hopefully, with enough response from members, the series will grow to a full 8 round championship for next year. The Mk. I and 2 register competition secretary is Jim Lowry, 47, Ash Grove, Moulsham Lodge, Chelmsford, Essex, should owners of any pre ’68 Jaguar saloons (inc. S Type, Mk. 10 etc.) be interested in any further details.
