Service?
Sir,
I must reply to the letter from Mr. Roger Millin in April’s MOTOR SPORT.
He appears to have misread my letter and is also unfamiliar with the heater motor installation on a BMW 2500. The motor is visible when the bonnet is lifted and, after removing the grille, there are the brushes. Therefore, the motor was not removed and brush replacement is simple. I cannot compete with Mr. Millin’s very favourable collection of professional qualifications, which I’m sure impressed many MOTOR SPORT readers.
As for missing my vocation, a “trite” remark. I feel, being employed as a Service Representative, covering Europe, Africa and the Middle East, I teach engineers of too many nationalities to number, subjects including hydraulics, mechanics, air systems, electrics and electronics and feel that I should be able to join two wires together and replace a brush spring in half an hour.
