and its assets have been acquired from the Receiver by racing enthusiasts Robin Sinith, Laurence Jacobson and Les Cuthbertson, who will move Chevron from Bolton to Smith’s farms at Newmains, near Glasgow.
This will be good 00000 00 owners of the numerous Chevrons scattered across the globe, for the consortium intends to concentrate its inital efforts on re-starting the spares service.
A new Chevron Sports 2000 is on the stocks and should be running by August, with plans for fttll production in 1981, which means a return to the spats car roots of Chevron, as created by the late Derek Bennett. Single-seaters will be given consideration later, but the ground-effect CanAm Chevron RN, built for the 1980 season and disappoint, in initial testing, has been firmly shelved. — C.R.
