Hooray for real road racing!

Hip, hip hooray for D.S. J.! His Reflections in a Side Street (Motor Sport, May) ought to be made compulsory reading tor everybody whoever telt a twinge ot emotion, experienced a moment of curiosity, or even got interested in anti-septic slot racers. They always looked exciting at Monaco; now we know that they can be really exciting at Long Beach. It’s time all the spectators started baying tor real street racing; then maybe the sponsors would start demanding something better than plastic PR shows and we’d get some real ROAD racing! If a bagful of dollars can call the tune, how about flinging a few more Marks in the Ring? Starting donations for Donington? Or badgering the Brummies for their Bull-ring? Woodcote was wonderful, but there’s nothing worse that today’s Silverstone chicanery.

So advertisers be warned, it you don’t listen to the likes of D.S.J. We’ll all be saving our money to Laker off to Long Beach.
