Castrol stronger in F1

Castrol seem more determined than ever to join the multinational oil bonanza of support for F1. Last month they added the Wolf team to the Regazzoni Ensign contract they signed at the beginning of the year.

There are still some big names from the oil World not in F1 – Exxon through Esso would seem an obvious candidate as the biggest corporations in the World. Perhaps President Carter’s energy saving drive in the USA will alter things for this kind of F1 support?

At present we have Texaco (McLaren), Valvoline (Lotus), Agip (Ferrari), Elf (Renault and Tyrrell), Fina (Brabham Alfa and Surtees) and Shell on the Ligier V12, as the most visible oil protagonists.
