I was extremely interested to read the letter from Mr. D. H. Freeman concerning the British Salmson. Also, it was delightful to feast my eyes on the photograph of the 20/90, with the S4C in the background.

I left a very good post with Leyland Motors in their Experimental Department in 1936 in order to work at Raynes Park. I was employed by British Salmson in 1936/1937 and worked on the assembly of engines, gearboxes and chassis, taking a drop in pay in order to be involved with the magic and romanticism of this hand-built and very fine product.

As Mr. Freeman says, only a very few 20/90s were built and I had the pleasure of working on some half dozen or so, as well as the S4 Series. I, too, had hoped there would be a resumption of production after the war, but it was not to be and strangely I have not seen one since!

I wonder if there are any pre-war brochures or literature around? I should be very interested to purchase a memento.
