The 70-limit and British exports

Sir,

Upon mature reflection, we must admit the 70 limit is an unqualified success. Consider the facts. Before – 5% of accidents occurred above 70, after – nil. There is a slight drawback in that the percentage occurring below 70 has risen from 95 to 100.

However, now is our chance. We must now immediately impose a minimum limit of 70, thus completely eliminating all accidents below 70. A magnificent tribute to B.C. (those heaven-sent initials) reasoning.

By the way, is it true the 1300 is overpriced to keep the Herald in production? And I just can’t wait for the price reductions in the Jaguar range, now that B.M.C. have taken them over to lavish all their know-how on how to get engineering organised and give value for money. (Usual disclaimers.)
