Elstree Air Display (June 4th)

For the past two years there has been considerable interest shown by the general public in the Elstree Air Display organised by the London School of Flying, which until this year was only open to visiting aircraft and members of the Club. It has, therefore, been decided to change the scope of the Display and open it to the public and promote it in a suitable fashion.

Among the participants are the Royal Air Force Jet Provost Acrobatic team and parachutists from the British Sky Diving Association, with a radio link from the “free falling” parachutist to the ground.

A Spitfire and Hurricane fighter from the Second World War and a Bristol Fighter, or Sopwith Pup from the First World War are included. Other acrobatic displays will be given by visiting teams from France and the United Kingdom, and there will be many vintage and veteran aircraft on show.

A mock speed trial will finish a truly exciting Display, which with the inclusion of a Fun Fair, countless side shows, attractions, refreshments and a demonstration of vintage racing cars, should prove very appealing to the spectators.
