The 18th Annual Banbury Run and Concours d’Elegance of the Vintage Motor Cycle Club takes place on June 26th, starting at 10.31 a.m. from Castle Gardens Car Park, Banbury, and finishing there, after the riders have covered routes of 16 miles at 12 m.p.h., 50 miles at 18 m.p.h., and 70 miles at 20/24 m.p.h. average speeds according to the age of their machines. Entries have closed but what an opportunity to see the pick of our ancient motorcycles in action in almost-contemporary scenes. But please park off the road! Studies of the motor car in fiction have been rife since the subject was dealt with in these pages and enlarged on in The Sunday Times Magazine; perhaps the most erudite coverage to date is that by Francis Fytton in the May issue of London Life.
