National Benzole have issued a useful map of town plans, covering 57 well-known towns from Bath to Worcester, with the location of important landmarks therein and the best through routes. The book costs 35s 6d, from your National Benzole filling station. The Editor looked hastily to see if this book would have saved him time recently in Gainsborough, where he got as far as the level-crossing well beyond the town, seeking A1 going South, then returned to the town centre, before realising that you have to cross the level-crossing as if going North for Bawtry before finding the left-turn for East Retford„ about which signposts in the town are, to say the least, reticent. Alas, nothing in this World is perfect—Gainsborough is not one of the towns in this useful book. . . . .
