AEROPLANE SALE
At Kidlington, Oxford’s pleasant grass Airport, W. S. Shackleton Ltd., the well-known Piccadilly (” Aviation is the Coming Thing “) aeroplane brokers, held a sales-weekend in April. There the displayed aeroplanes ranging, in price, from a Percival Proctor III at £350 to a D.H. Dove at £17,000. Rollasons put in a D.H. Tiger Moth at £700 and two new Turbulent monoplanes, Norman Jones arriving from Croydon in the blue one to make a perfect landing in this ultra-light during the strong wind on the Sunday morning–he wore a crash-hat and had a map secured to the cockpit combing with a paper clip. The-same firm showed the Bishop Tiger, and their Thruxton Jackaroo, four-seater cabin version of the Tiger Moth, which sells for £1,195.—W. B.
