THE SECOND INTERNATIONAL TULIP RALLY
This event was as tough as the Monte Carlo Rally. Our own Ken Wharton won in a Ford Pilot, Ford cars winning three of the five classes:

A.C. OWNERS’ CLUB GYMKHANA (May 14th)
The Concours, which was judged by Mr. R. G. Henderson, Sales Manager at the Works, was divided into two classes, for pre- and post-war cars. Class I was won hy G. W. Sudlow (1937 Competition two-seater): 2nd : R. N. H. Marks (1928 Anzani two-seater). Class II : 1st : L. N. Drew (1948 saloon); 2nd : E. W. Palmer (1948 saloon). Sudlow’s car finished highest in the general classification. The Gymkhana, which followed the Concours, involved acceleration, braking, reversing and manoeuvring tests, and some energetic passenger-work. Provisional results : 1st : F. Fletcher, driving a Bucklandbodied sports tourer ; 2nd : G. W. Sudlow (car as above) ; 3rd : the Buckland tourer driven by E. J. Bailey, its designer.
