IT is with a feeling of gratification that we record a considerable measure of success for our campaign on behalf of the small powered motor boat. Our correspondence shows that many more people are interested in this branch of motor sport than one would at

first, believe. . There are still a large number of people, however, who hesitate to spend money on a new sport about which they feel they know too little. This is where our competition conies in. All they need do is to sit down and write a story of about 500 words on small power motorboating. It need not be true. It need not be technically accurate, but it must be about 500 words. Three of these stories will be published in three consecutive issues of MOTOR SPORT and

the writer of the winning story will be presented with a Johnson Junior Motor. Not just an outboard motor, but a motor that comes from the world’s largest manufacturers of outboard engines. A beautifully built and finished product, and the very latest model catalogued at £23.

We have decided to offer this motor as a prize, with the collaboration of Messrs. Vanadium, Ltd., of 64, Victoria Street, London, S.W.1., the British distributors of Johnson Motors, in the belief that it will serve to fan the glow of interest in motorboating into a flame of enthusiasm. Don’t be afraid to write your story. Just think of the prize !

Read the rules carefully. They are quite simple.

THE COMPETITION RULES.

1. Stories must be written on one side of the paper only, and must be approximately 500 words in length.

2. Competitors must submit their stories not later than the 15th of June, 1933.

3. Any number of stories may be sent in by competitors, but each must be accompanied by a separate coupon, which will be found on the inside back cover of this issue of MOTOR SPORT.

4. Stories must be about some incident connected with small-power motorboating, real or imaginary.

5. The Editor’s decision is final.

6. No member of the staff of MOTOR SPORT is allowed to compete.
