SI R,—I notice your correspondent’s query as to his ” 13ora ” car. This car was made by a firm of motor engineers at Horsham, Messrs. Boorer Sc Roberts (now at Broadwater, near Worthing) and was raced at Brooklands in 1920-21 not very successfully. It was sold to Sir R. Gunter, from whom I purchased it in 1922, selling it again after many alterations ; after this I lost touch with the car. The engine is 1,496 c.c. ” Sage ” by Sages of F,uston Road (now shopfitters I believe). The chassis was ” M.A.B.”. much too frail for the engine, and when purchased it had elliptic rear springs and no torque rod or tube ! I converted this and replaced rear springs by two Ford model T front

springs inverted making elliptics of them. A far better model, No. 2, was made by the same firm the following year and

did better at Brooklands, it was altogether a better designed job and had a very similar Sage engine but with higher compression. The car was named “The Bora,” no doubt Mr. Boorer could give you fuller details if written to at Broadwater Green, Worthing.
