THE PRIX ROYAL OF ROME

THE Prix Royal of Rome, which took place on the 24th of April on the circuit of Littorio, resulted in a win for Fagioli on the 16-cylinder Maserati, which virtually consists of 2 of the 21-litre engines combined. Rain fell heavily before the race and made the course very slippery, but fortunately the sun appeared in time for the race, and conditions were good. First came the eliminating heats over a distance of 100 kilometres, and then the final over 240 kilometres. The results of the heats were as follows :
