Eddie Keizan

Prominent South African racer Eddie Keizan died on May 21, aged 71. Born in Johannesburg, he drove sports and saloon cars before stepping up to F5000 and winning the 1972 South African Gold Star title at the wheel of a Surtees TS5. He also competed in his domestic F1 series and started three world championship Grands Prix on home soil, driving a Tyrrell in 1973-74 and a Lotus 72 in ’75. ​

John Hansford

The man behind the well-known Luke racing harnesses, John Hansford, has died after a long illness. Involved in motor sport for most of his career, he went into the retail business, running race equipment shops with Les Leston and Gordon Spice as well as manufacturing a wide range of Luke harnesses. He also raced, competing in Formula Vee, and played drums in a blues band.
