Stretton makes Le Mans bid
Amanda Stretton will become the first British woman to compete in the Le Mans 24 Hours this month since Juliette Slaughter raced a Lola T294 in 1978.
Stretton is teaming up with her husband Bob Berridge in Chamberlain-Synergy Motorsport’s LMP1 category Lola B06/10.
“We went to Snetterton and I had a benchmark time to get down to, and it went very well,” said Stretton.
The last British female to make a Le Mans bid was Davina Galica, in 1991. But her Spice was crashed in qualifying by another driver and did not make the race.
