Remembering David Leslie

Two events this summer will commemorate David Leslie, who died in the Biggin Hill air crash on March 30.

During the Knockhill Classic Speedfair on June 7/8, a ‘driver of the day’ award in his name will be presented during the Sir Jackie Stewart Trophy for Formula Ford 1600s. David Leslie Senior will choose the winner.

In addition, the left-handed corner at the foot of Duffus Dip at Knockhill has now been renamed Leslie’s. In the 1990s, David Leslie Racing was based at the circuit.

Meanwhile in July’s Silverstone Classic, the 90-minute Group C race will be titled the David Leslie Memorial Trophy.
