DFV celebration at Brands

The 40th anniversary of the Ford Cosworth DFV grand prix engine will be one of two major Ford anniversaries celebrated at Brands Hatch on June 30/July 1 during the Autoglym HSCC Historic Festival.

Marking 40 years since Jim Clark won at Zandvoort on the debut of the DFV, round six of the FIA Historic Formula One Championship will pit a field of around 25 F1 cars from the DFV era against the Brands Grand Prix circuit. 

The event will also mark the 40th anniversary, almost exactly to the day, of the hugely significant Formula Ford category, and to celebrate this a round of the HSCC Historic Formula Ford Championship will feature a capacity grid. Ray Allen, winner of that inaugural race on July 2 1967, will climb back into a Lotus 51 for some demonstration laps.
