In my view, the revamp of Motor Sport is generally excellent, as is the thinking behind it.

My one criticism concerns the perverse proportioning of some of the photography. The LAT photographic essay on 1948 would have been most evocative, had you not scaled down to minuscule most of the photographs (presumably to give an impression of snapshots in an album?).

It simply didn’t work — and it made the white space look just wasteful.

And then, handsome chap though he is, Max Mosley surely does not warrant an entire page for the depiction of his grinning physiognomy. It added nothing to the otherwise informative article, and once again gave an impression of waste.

But these are cavils merely. The priority is that Motor Sport survives with its spirit intact. And that is clearly happening.
