Uphill March

The March 742 used by Jimmy Mieusset to win the 1974 European HilIclimb title has returned to racing in the hands of John Timoney after a lengthy rebuild. It will be raced in Derek Bell Trophy and European F2 races this season.

Trott on form

Richard Trott has returned to Classic F3 racing with a Chevron B43 after his previous Ralt was stolen shortly before the season began. Trott took his first victory in the car at Silverstone in May.

New home for RAC

The Roger Albert Clark Rally will move its base to Harrogate for the third running of the event in November. From the Yorkshire Showground, competitors tackle three days of forest rallying, starting in the Dolby complex. Harrogate was home to the RAC Rally in the 1970s.

First finish for Amon

The unique Amon F101 Grand Prix car finally finished its first race during the Monaco Historic GP, when Ron Maydon took the restored car to tenth place in the 1966-74 3-litre F1 race. The car’s only start prior to this was back in ’74 when Amon retired from the Spanish GP.

Spain on tour

The eighth Tour of Spain starts from Madrid on Monday November 6 and takes in three races and 13 special stages, finishing at Valencia five days later. Jarama, Albacete and Cartagena tracks feature on the pre-66 race/rally event.
