Michael Schumacher is taking time out from his F1 programme to run his F399 at Ferrari’s annual celebration at the Nurburgring next month. Schumacher may also drive an older F1 Ferrari, despite having described a 1983 156 turbocar as “fantastically dangerous,” during a drive at Fiorano. The festival, on July 3/4, includes a regularity event on the full 14-mile Nordschleife circuit for competitors in the Shell Historical Ferrari Maserati Challenge. Entries include Klaus Werner’s Maserati 300S, in which Stirling Moss won the Nurburgring 1000 Kms in 1956, and the Ferrari 250 GT0, which won the GT class Le Mans in 1962. Chris Rea’s replica Sharknose will also attend.
