Protest puts end to Jenks two-minute noise
The Earl of March has instructed the architects of the special tribute to MOTOR SPORT’s legendary correspondent Denis Jenkinson to alter its focus at his Goodwood Festival of Speed in June following complaints from local councillor Andrew Smith.
The two-minute ‘noise’ featuring the engine notes of every car and motorcycle in the paddock which was to have celebrated his life in a uniquely appropriate way, will be replaced with a run by Stirling Moss in a Mercedes-Benz 300SLR, the car which came second in the 1955 Mille Miglia won by the duo (below).
