Scottish Trial and Hambledon Rally

Overall winner the VSCC Scottish Trial was RG Winder (Austin 7), and other first-class award winners were P Stringer (A7), J Evans (GE A7), J Blake (ON), and J Ghosh (30/98). Second-class awards went to R Low (A7), H Spence (Lea-Francis Special), and W Liddell (30/98), and third class awards to W Gordon (A7), who also gained the Novices’ Trophy, M Holt (Alvis) and R Proctor (Riley 9). Among the 38 entries, of whom three non-started, an interesting runner was Sudjic’s 1929 662cc Acre.

The Hambledon navigation rally on May 2 saw Jones’ 30/98 win the Jug for best performance. First class Awards went to Winder (Alvis), Mrs John (Lagonda), Harris (Lagonda), Wickham (Alvis) and Cattell (Riley), Second Class Awards to McEwen (Riley), Canner (Riley), Edge (Riley), Muschamp (Lancia), Toms (Fiat) and Faulkner (Alvis) and Third Class Awards to Baxter (Riley), Clark (Salmson), Elsom (Frazer Nash), and Garfitt (FN-BMW), and Best Novice was Robey (14/40 Vauxhall). WB
