A Humber correction

Sir,

I note with interest that you paid a visit to the Humber wall which incorporates four large panels depicting the Humber Wheel of Life which featured in Humber trade marks.

The wall is part of the old Humber works in Humber Road, Beeston a suburb of Nottingham, thus Beeston Humber, and not in Coventry as you stated. The Wheel of Life does not have three legs, you must have been thinking of the Isle of Man, but has ten legs, five bodies, ten arms and one head.

You may be interested to know a bit of background to The Wheel of Life, it was first used in a Humber trade mark in 1886 and was extensively used up to the end of the 1920s most notably in the chain wheel of bicycles and motorcycles and embossed on the hub caps of the cars.
