From Grand Prix Models of Radlett we have received three more excellent miniatures. One of these is of the K3 MG Magnette with which George Eyston and Count Lurani won the 1,100 C.C. class in the 1933 Mille Miglia. It carries its racing-number 39, has its main screen folded flat, two aero screens erect, Union flags on the bonnet, and items like the top of the SU carburetter protruding from the supercharger apron, radiator stone-guard, outside exhaust, slab fuel tank with dual fillers, bonnet strap, prop-shaft tunnel with short, remote gearlever, etc. are all very well depicted. The hand-brake obviously works on the back wheels, as these are locked, on our model! Then there is the Morgan hard-top with which Chris Lawrence won the 2-litre class at Le Mans in 1962, with its racing number 29 but presumably in road-trim, as it has no bonnet straps, and a single windscreen wiper and a licence-holder are fitted.

The third Grand Prix Models’ replica is a very fine gull-wing Mercedes-Benz 300SL, the prototype car. The doors open upwards, to reveal steering wheel, gear lever, seats, etc. These models are all available from Grand Prix Models in kit form, with copious building instructions. Incidentally, if anyone is wondering why I review some models and omit others, it is because we make a rule that we only review those products of which samples are submitted. – W.B.
