To Make Your H.R.G. Steer.

Some months ago you published a letter of mine in which I mentioned the steering wander which afflicted my new H.R.G. during its first trip on the long straight French roads, en route for Maloja, last summer. I was moved to mention this matter, with its simple and complete cure, because a similar of people had been remarking to me that the H.R.G.s that they had driven had steering wander, and they appeared to think that this was an integral feature of the machine. This seemed a pity, as it is a car well suited to a driver who happens to be fussy about steering, for it can be adjusted to suit all tastes and conditions. (On my first trip with the car. I happened to have with me an ex-G.N. driver, so the cause of the wander was soon traced!). I have now been told by the H.R.G. Engineering Co. that it has been discovered by them that, with the 5.50 by 16 tyres that are now fitted to the 1 1/2-litres, the front axles require to be set to give more castor action than was the case with the previous smaller tyres. They are, I understand, going to advise owners to this effect.
