I expect you are all quite tired of hearing about the new 1,500 c.c. Alfa-Romeo. This car has been reported to be on the way for several years now, but somehow it never seems to develop beyond the rumour stage. On the other hand, I can vouch for the fact that such a car was actually in partial existence at the beginning of this year, and I have been awaiting its
appearance in 1,500 c.c. races with not a little curiosity and impatience.
This long-awaited event may have actually taken place before these lines appear in print, for on July 10th the Grand Prix d’Albigeois is due to be held, way down in the Midi. And there is a Story going the rounds in France that the Alfa Corse are going to try out their new car in this race.
However much British enthusiasts may be gratified at the proven supremacy of the E.R.A. in 1,500 c.c. racing, most people will agree that some competition of a stronger nature than can be provided by Maseratia would tend to make these races a good deal more exciting and.
