BARRY ANNUAL REGATTA.

THE Barry Yacht and Motor Boat Club held its annual regatta last month at Friar’s Point, Barry Island. The event was well organised and well supported, and large crowds attended the two-days’ fixtures, the interest of which was added to by the broadcasting of a commentary on the different races as they were in progress. At the conclusion, the prizes were presented by Lady Cope, wife of Major Sir William Cope, who is President of the Club. The results of the motor craft events were as follow : Handicap (motor launches under 30ft.), for T. White Challenge Cup.-1, ” Rhyban-Glas ” (D. L. Jones) ; 2, “

Handicap (local passenger launches over 30 ft.) for Sir W. Cope Cup.-1, ” Olive Spray ” ; 2,” Lily Spray” (both owned by the Passenger Launch Co.).

Handicap (motor cabin cruisers) for White Bros.’ Challenge Cup.-1, “Iris Maude” (N. Bate) ; 2, ” Cariad ” (Barry Pilots) ; 3, ” Apollo ” (V. B. Pearce).
