IRISH INTERNATIONAL GRAND PRIX

THE entries for the Phcenix Park races this year show a representative selection of the world’s sporting cars, and some excellent sport may be anticipated. The first day’s race, for which there are 25 entries, is for cars under 1500 c.c. The smallest class is composed of Austins, one unsupercharged ; Rileys and Amilcars make up the under 1100 c.c., while Aston Martin, Alfa Romeo and Lea Francis teams are running in Class F. With them is a f.w.d. Alvis, which may well show up to advantage on the Dublin course. On the second day the Hon. Dorothy Paget’s team of supercharged 4i Bentleys are alone in Class C, while in

the unlimited category the Big Sixes are once more matched with the supercharged Mercs. A team of 1750 c.c. Alfa Romeos is running this year, and the make has more than once proved its mettle against the bigger cars. In the same class is an air-cooled S.A.R.A., which is now being manufactured in Great Britain. The remaining entries comprise an official team of 0.M.’s, one of them driven by the redoubtable Ramponi, three Talbots, two Sunbeams and a Lagonda. Three entrants have not yet specified what cars they intend to drive, but the names already received are sufficient to ensure good racing on each day.
