Gimme, gimme, gimme – some sponsorship. The Motor Sport big interview with Alastair Caldwell references an ATS which appears, incongruously, to be sponsored by the Swedish disco legends ABBA. In reality no money changed hands. Instead the musical association was down to the driver, Swede Slim Borgudd, who scored a single point for ATS in the 1981 Formula 1 season. Borgudd was also a talented session drummer who played with ABBA and helped promote the band, gratis, on his car.
