As the restorer of the ‘Pink Pig’ for Porsche, I would like to correct one thing regarding the controversy about the cause of the crash (November issue).

What I reported to Porsche was that when we disassembled the car we found the right front brake pads were worn down to bare metal. The pad backing plates and the brake rotor were heavily grooved and dark blue in colour. Note that I reported that this was the right front brake, not both front brakes. The left front brake pads still had a very small amount of friction material on them. Why the uneven wear, I can’t tell you, but it would definitely cause the car to turn under braking.
