Martin Brundle

Multiple hot-rod winner Brundle has been one of the anchors of F1 TV coverage since 1997. His grid walkabout is a highlight, because as a Grand Prix driver and Le Mans winner himself he can talk to an F1 driver on equal terms. His insight and crisp honesty make a welcome change from corporate-speak, so this month he joins Nigel Roebuck for a metaphorical 2008 ‘grid walk’.

Martin Gurdon

Being himself the owner of a Bristol 401, Martin is familiar with the individualistic English company’s products. Martin has written about cars both for newspapers and classic magazines – and has also authored a book on domestic fowl.

Ed Foster

Ed’s teeth are still chattering after his icy ride to Mallory Park and back for our racing Capri shoot. He reports that his new Suzuki GSX-R 750 is a terrific bike, but the heater isn’t much cop. Gordon Kirby

Writing about Al Unser Jr this month was home ground for Gordon, who has a string of books on Indycar drivers under his belt, drawing on his 35 years of race reporting in the United States and overseas. Having known Unser for many years was a good basis to draw the Indy 500 winner out on the personal difficulties which disrupted his life and racing career, but which are now behind him.
