BP Ultimate sponsors Classic F3 Championship

BP Ultimate is to sponsor the 2008 HSCC Classic Formula 3 Championship. BP was a major sponsor of the British F3 Championship in the 1970s and ’80s as well as supporting the F3 campaigns of Nelson Piquet (below), Derek Warwick and Johnny Dumfries, among others.

Ruth Sanderson of BP said: “We are delighted to sponsor this year’s Championship which features cars that were racing when BP last sponsored the formula. We look forward to providing promotional and technical support.”

The series is for two-litre F3 cars from the pre-1980 era. Motor Sport will also be supporting the championship throughout the year. • See page 82 for our track test of three of the leading cars.
