Priaulx makes it a hat-trick
Andy Priaulx won his third World Touring Car Championship in a row after taking victory in the second race at Macau, the last race of the season.
He arrived at the weekend chasing the championship title, but in the early stages of the race it looked as though Yvan Muller was set to take it. Muller was far out in front while Priaulx was languishing in 11th, only to be saved when the French Seat driver suffered fuel pump failure on the penultimate lap and Augusto Farfus and Gabriele Tarquini then collided.
Priaulx is keen to stay with BMW in the future but is adamant that they need to change to a turbocharged diesel engine in order to continue their run of success. It seems this is the option to take as the petrol-powered cars were desperately lacking pace at a number of circuits, such as Monza.
