It’s that time of year again when we wonder who will finish second in the Autocourse Top Ten Drivers behind Michael the Inevitable.

In fact, the Top Ten is more controversial than it has been for many a year, and though Alan Henry has argued each case well enough, I expect it will spark many a debate.

The photographic quality may too. On our (admittedly early) proofs, the reproduction quality looked patchy, and some of the images appeared to be wired digital photographs rather than transparencies, and were drained of colour. Check before you buy.

The interview with Ross Brawn is interesting, the one with Max Mosley infuriating, and reviews of the Formula 3000, F3 and GT seasons are well up to standard. But the book’s greatest achievement is recalling an exceedingly dull F1 season in an entertaining fashion. Roll on 2003. No, really. DM
