Having attracted record crowds to both events in 2002, Goodwood has announced dates for the 2003 Festival of Speed and Revival Meeting. The Festival, which drew 138,000 visitors last year, will run over the weekend of July 11-13, while the Revival Meeting, watched by 81,000 fans in 2002, will be held on September 5-7.

The Jim Clark Memorial and the Manx International rallies will feature in the eight-event calendar for the 2003 MSA British Historic Rally Championship. The season kicks off in early March in the Nottinghamshire forests.

Work started in early December on a rebuild of the pit complex at Oukon Park. It should be ready in time for the start of the circuit’s 50th anniversary season, which will be marked by the Gold Cup meeting over the August Bank Holiday weekend.

The Ferrari Maserati Festival will switch to Donington Park in 2003, held over the weekend of May 24/25, after running for two seasons at Brands Hatch. A round of the Shell Historic Ferrari/Maserati Challenge is set to head the programme.

Rupert Manwaring appointed the new MD at Lola Cars International Ltd. Manwaring, 46, has worked for Brabham, Lotus and Tyrrell, having started his career with John Surtees in the late 1970s. He was most recently MD at the European Minardi Fl team.

Eightenn-year-old girl Conny Kenner is expected to drive an Arrows (or perhaps a March) in next season’s Thoroughbred Grand Prix round at the A1-Ring.
