Bridgehampton visit

May I say how much I enjoyed Nigel Roebuck’s Legends article on Bridgehampton in Motor Sport last month.

I have a great deal of sympathy for him being unable to have a look at the track. I was rather more fortunate when I visited there in June 1996, as they still had minor race meetings there back then. I managed to have a walk around on the day before the meeting. I then flew home just in time to visit the Goodwood Festival of Speed. This proved to be a good decision as there were Chaparrals, GT4Os and much Can-Am machinery on show so, in juxtaposition, I could visualise exactly what it must have been like some 30 years earlier.
