Tank Racing
The Minister of Defence informs us that a race was staged recently at the Nürburgring between two Alvis light-alloy Scorpion tanks, from the 14th/20th King’s Hussars and the 17th/21st Lancers, and that it ended in a dead-heat. Could it have been a publicity, stunt?—because dead-heats are uncommon in motor racing. We are relieved to hear that after this furious contest not a scratch was found on the surface of the famous circuit, which the Army knows as the Nürburgring.
