This year's Monte Carlo rally route

The 23rd Monte Carlo Rally will be held from January 18th to January 21st. Starting points will be from Athens, Frankfurt, Glasgow, Lisbon, Minsk, Monte Carlo, Oslo, Paris and Warsaw. The Glasgow starters will pass through the Midlands to swing west to Llandrindod Wells, and from there they will go to New Milton in Hampshire and then on to Dover to catch the Dover-Boulogne car ferry. Glasgow starting time is between 8.53 and 9.29 p.m. The common route starts at Reims on the Monday and passes through the following control points: Gerardmer, Maiche, Saint-Claude, Chambery, Uriage, Gap. Seyne-Les-Alpes, Annot, La Bollene and thence to Monaco, where the round-the-houses special tests will be held on the Thursday. The length of common route has been lengthened considerably this year to 1,418 kilometres. – E. L. W.
