THE 1937 MONTE CARLO RALLY

A last-minute rush has put the entries for this year’s Monte Carlo Rally up to 128, or eighteen more than last year, with the prospect of even a few more after we close for press. There are, to date, thirty-five British competitors, an increase of three over ‘last year. Prominent British representatives are Alan P. Good with a 4i-litre Lagonda, Donald Healey (Triumph), D. H. Murray, well-known trials driver, with a Frazer-Nash-B.M.W., F. S. Barnes and his Singer, Mrs. M. L. Vaughan, the famous lady doctor, partnered by Miss Taylor, in a Standard, Sir Ronald Gunter (Hotchkiss), Miss

V. M. Wilby, who is forsaking her G.N. for an Armstrong,Siddeley, wisely we feel, Major Douglas-Morris (Hillman), J. W. Whalley, experienced exponent of the Winter Adventure, with a Ford, and Capt. Howey, who drove a LeylandThomas at Brooklands, 1924-26, and who is returning to the sport with a Bentley, S. C. H. Davis (Wolseley), Miss Patten (British-Salmson), and A. C. Scott (H.R.G.), the last few all experienced Rally drivers.
