F1 calendar signed off
The Canadian and British GPs now have firm dates on the definitive 2010 F1 World Championship calendar issued by the FIA after the World Motor Sport Council meeting in Monaco.
Both races were originally provisional, pending commercial arrangements. The inaugural event In South Korea still remains provisional, pending the usual circuit homologation.
The dates of the last four races have changed since the calendar was first published. Japan has moved back a week, with South Korea also moved back to maintain a gap.
Brazil has moved forward a week to become the penultimate event, while Abu Dhabi has gone back two weeks to become the finale. The FIA had previously said the events would swap places if both promoters agreed.
Brazil/Abu Dhabi is the only ‘double header’, with races on consecutive weekends – an interesting logistical exercise for team personnel. As previously revealed, Monaco has moved forward a week to allow time to get cars and equipment to Turkey.
