Granted unprecedented access to De Tomaso factory records, Olyczyk has unearthed a few gems – we were unaware that the firm produced an Indycar, and Peter Brock’s recollections of the gorgeous but sadly stillborn Sport 5000 make for interesting reading. On the downside, the layout could be better and there are more than a few typos. What is abundantly clear is that while few De Tomasos ever make the grade trackside, a large number didn’t even reach completion. Even so, there are comprehensive results tables for those that did and over 1000 images of just about every race a Pantera has ever entered (right down to Chris Meek pedalling his in ’70s UK club racing).
